FANCL Mild Cleansing Oil Black & Smooth 120ml is the pore-focused variant of FANCL's preservative-free cleansing oil for oily and congested skin — adding Activated Charcoal, Adsorbing Clay, Komenuka (Rice Bran) Extract, and Hop Extract to the standard Mild Cleansing Oil base for deeper blackhead removal alongside makeup cleansing, while maintaining FANCL's Mutenka preservative-free formulation standard.

• Activated Charcoal — adsorbs sebum, oxidised oil, and impurities from inside pores through electromagnetic attraction
• Adsorbing Clay — draws out surface debris and fine pore congestion that charcoal alone may not capture
• Komenuka (Rice Bran) Extract — traditional Japanese brightening and softening botanical
• Hop Extract — softens hardened sebum plugs inside pores (shared with the standard Mild Cleansing Oil)
• Preservative-free (Mutenka) — same zero-preservative standard as the standard formula

How it works: The Black & Smooth adds pore-adsorbing actives (charcoal and clay) to the standard formula's sebum-softening action. Charcoal attracts oil molecules into its porous structure during the massage phase; clay adsorbs fine surface particles and debris. Together they provide a more thorough pore clearance per wash than a standard cleansing oil can achieve — the trade-off is a slightly higher active concentration that is less appropriate for very sensitive or reactive skin.

Black & Smooth vs standard FANCL for oily skin: If you have oily or congested skin without significant sensitivity, Black & Smooth is the more effective pore-cleaning option. If your skin is reactive, easily irritated, or has atopic tendencies, stick with the standard Mild Cleansing Oil. Both are preservative-free and of equivalent quality — the difference is whether the additional pore-clearing actives are needed.
